This marks post 100. When I began TGM I had no intentions of reaching one hundred posts or even people for that matter. But here I am and with this post I have also reached 1000 visitors; I’m telling you these numbers because they are important to me. Each number represents one person who has taken the time to visit this page, a person who took a moment out of their busy life to peek into my developing album. Some days show ambiguous photographs with no overt subject and other times its a collection of images from one single event. Truth is, I don’t know what this is going to be yet, and as I write this post I’m even more confused as what I’m supposed to talk about (because I feel like I should talk about something). But words, I realize, are just small details and without a greater picture these details will fall short. So to stay true to old cliches and traditions, I’ll let these photos speak the 1000 words that I couldn’t even begin to express.
If you can succeed in trying, then you have succeeded. – Marcus Aurelius
People – Humans are always looking to make the impossible, possible.
The first set of images below are dedicated to those individuals who have helped me or TGM grow in some way. Thank you.

Places -“A story is only as good as it’s scenes, and that which is unseen.”
It’s not where the destination is but rather what was learned on the journey. Take a look and see all that He created.

Things – “Its who you are during an experience that causes change, not the experience itself.”
The last set of images are snippets from my journey through life.
Gordon Parks. It was his story that inspired me to pick up the camera and begin exposing everything in my world. I hope to leave a legacy as heartfelt and impactful as his. “The tools to find the truth” – Combustion Child“The first submitted photo, thank you Converse” – Undergraduate“Never let your ink run dry, even if your pockets do.” – Volunteer“Cheap jewelry can hold priceless memories” – Human“I thought I knew my grandfather, discovering these proved I have more to learn.” Grand Son“A debilitating curiosity towards the unknown. “Untitled” – Me
When I began this post I didn’t know what it was going to be, and as I finish it I am still not sure. It could be a milestone, a collage of my cherished images, or a spark of inspiration. I will leave it up to you to decide, because isn’t that what we do with pictures anyways? The beauty of photography is that each person will look at the same image and have a different experience. Each of these photos are unique, because every Golden Moment from above has been the same but different. Same camera, same format, same buttons; different subjects, different locations, different elements. And the photographer? I’m not sure which one he is yet.
Thank you once again for taking the time to visit my page. As we enter the sixth month of TGM I want to invite viewers to be more active and involved. I’ll be creating a new poll and finding other ways to include you all in the creation process. Dogwood is still in the works, I have covered at least 6 different locations within NC, with many more ahead. As always there is more to come, so stay tuned and hit the follow button if you’ve enjoyed the work thus far. Catch me on Instagram highlighting my 2014 adventure through Spain.
I'm trying to take pictures of God; He's everywhere and we've done such a fantastic job of not seeing him. If you're here then look closely, and you'll find something about yourself in these images. View all posts by jvarina
